I find myself in a reflective mood, knowing that I am entering the twilight of my time on earth. To some of you that might sound sad or depressing, but it is quite the opposite in my mind. I know with every fiber of my being where I am going…Home.
I have memories of my childhood, rearing my children and the sweet joy of seeing my grandchildren growing into strong children of God.
I can clearly see the mistakes I have made without the uncertainty or guilt that youth often brings.
There are a few things that I know for sure that I’d like to share with the busy young women of our flock:
You will never regret the time that you spent listening to a friend or loved one, even if you had to bite your tongue!
You will never say “oh I wish my house had been cleaner!” Your babies really will be gone before you know it.
If you are presented with the opportunity, you will never regret the time you spent caring for a parent or elderly relative or friend. Whether it is 21 days or 21 years.
If someone is on your heart or in your mind, I know that there is a reason for it. God is nudging you to reach out to that person in some way…a text, an e-mail, or a note. Encouragement, comforting, caring can be be such a blessing. To the person you are thinking of and ultimately to yourself.
Those of you that know me at all, know that I tend to ramble on and on…SO, I will leave you with these verses:
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
Love to you all!
